TERRIOR
Distinguished by its elevated terrain and unique microclimates, Mt. Veeder stands apart from the valley floor of Napa, offering an entirely different viticultural experience. The altitude of 1200 feet above sea level provides a cooler climate with more exposure to winds and fog, prolonging the growing season. The mountain’s rocky, volcanic soils, vastly different from the valley’s sedimentary deposits, force the vines to delve deep into the earth, seeking nutrients and water. This struggle for sustenance imbues the grapes with a distinct intensity and concentration.
The unique combination of elevation, cooler temperatures, and well-drained, mineral-rich soils contributes to grapes with smaller berries, thicker skins, and a natural defense mechanism, resulting in wines that exude power, complexity, and an unmistakable sense of place.
